History
Established in 1929 (Showa 4) as a high-end kaiseki restaurant-inn and has operated continuously for nearly a century in Arima Onsen, which itself has over 1,300 years of history as one of Japan's Three Ancient Springs. The gold spring water originates from 600-million-year-old subducted Pacific seawater. Kinzan is the only ryokan in Hyogo Prefecture to hold both a Michelin one-star rating for cuisine and the five-roof designation for accommodations.
