Spring (March-May) and autumn (October-November) offer the most comfortable weather and beautiful scenery. Spring features cherry blossoms around Kumamoto Castle, while autumn brings pleasant temperatures and fall colors.
Mount Aso is accessible by JR train or bus from Kumamoto City. The crater area can be reached by ropeway, though access may be restricted due to volcanic activity. Check conditions before visiting.
