About
Nishiya Besso is a boutique 5-room ryokan in Azumino, Nagano, built from a relocated 200-year-old farmhouse from Niigata. Nestled in a forest at the foot of the Japanese North Alps, it blends old farmhouse architecture with heartfelt kaiseki cuisine and three private onsen baths fed by Nakabusa hot spring water.

History
Main building is a 200-year-old kominka (traditional farmhouse) transported from Niigata and reconstructed. Original wooden beams darkened by centuries of hearth smoke have been preserved alongside a functional irori (sunken hearth). Represents the Japanese tradition of kominka restoration.
