History
Jinya traces its roots to the Kamakura Shogunate era, making it one of the oldest operating inns in the Kanto region with over 400 years of continuous hospitality. Emperor Meiji himself visited the property, and the inn's ancient camphor tree is said to have inspired Hayao Miyazaki's iconic tree in "My Neighbor Totoro." The 10,000 sqm garden was redesigned by world-renowned garden designer Kazuyuki Ishihara in 2023.
