How Ryokan Finder makes money
Ryokan Finder is an independent guide, owned and run by Aioli LLC. No hotel group, booking site or inn owns any part of it.
When you click a booking button and then book, the booking site may pay us a commission. You pay the same price as you would going to that site directly. You book and pay with the booking site, never with us, and your booking, payment and any changes are between you and them.
Our booking partners today are Agoda and Stay22. Tours, passes and eSIMs link to Klook, KKday, Airalo, Yesim, Saily, Tiqets, and Go City.
Inns cannot pay to be listed, ranked or featured, and no partner chooses which inns we write about. An inn is on the site because we think it is worth a stay, whether or not a partner sells it. Where no partner sells an inn, we link to the inn’s own website, which earns us nothing.
Facts on inn pages, such as baths, tattoo rules and children, are checked on each inn’s own website where we have been able to, and left out where we have not. We do not show review scores we cannot source. How lists are chosen and facts checked is on how we choose and check ryokans, and the full rules on our editorial policy.
Why Agoda?
Agoda sells most of the inns in our directory and pays us for bookings, so it is the main button on most inn pages. It is owned by Booking Holdings, the company behind Booking.com. If you would rather book somewhere else, the inn’s name works on any booking site, and on the inn’s own website.
