About
Keishokan Sazanamitei stands on the harbour at Tomonoura, the Edo-period port town on the Seto Inland Sea that Fukuyama grew up around. It has 26 rooms, fully renovated in March 2024; the older plan had seven rooms with open-air baths, four facing the sea and three the garden, so check the current layout when booking (keishokan.com, Selected Ryokan). The public baths include a boat-shaped open-air bath and a cypress barrel bath, both looking out over the water. Tomonoura is about 30 minutes by bus from Fukuyama Station on the Shinkansen, 25 minutes from Hiroshima.
