About
Yufuin Tamanoyu is one of the founding ryokans of Yufuin, in Oita on Kyushu, and one of the inns that shaped the town's reputation. Around 15 detached cottage-style rooms are scattered through roughly one hectare of woodland garden that was converted from paddy fields in the 1940s, with views of Mount Yufu. Dinner is a seasonal Oita kaiseki served in the ryokan's dining room, Budou-ya, with local Bungo beef among the ingredients, and the grounds also hold a tea house, a bar and a shop. Published rates run from 41,950 to 72,750 yen per person per night with two meals. Yufuin Station is a ten-minute walk.
