Hana no Yado Matsuya is a mid-priced inn of about 47 rooms in Kinugawa Onsen, Japanese and Japanese-Western, some looking over the gorge and some onto a garden (Booking.com, Rakuten Travel). The upper rooms have private open-air tubs facing the valley; the others use the communal baths and a cypress bath that can be booked for 45 minutes for a fee. It is the Kinugawa choice for a family or a budget, a step below Kinugawa Kanaya in price and a step above the resort hotels in character. Kinugawa-Onsen Station is a short walk.
