About
Shogetsutei is the largest inn in Kinosaki Onsen, 98 rooms, 84 of them Japanese-style, run by the Nishimuraya family alongside their older Honkan (visitkinosaki.com). Rooms look onto a garden on one side and the Otani River on the other; eight have their own open-air baths, filled with heated water rather than the spring. The public bath has an open-air section, a jacuzzi and a mist sauna facing the garden, and three private spas, Gingetsu, Fu-ro and Rinsen, can be reserved. An outdoor pool in the woods opens from mid-July to late August. Kinosaki Onsen Station is about ten minutes on foot.
