Gora Hanaougi is a 20-room ryokan near Sounzan Station at the top of the Hakone Tozan Cable Car, above the Gora district. Every room has a private open-air bath supplied with hot spring water directly from the source, so guests bathe without using the shared facilities at all. Dinner is Kyoto-style kaiseki built around seasonal ingredients. Access from Tokyo is about 90 minutes on the Odakyu Limited Express from Shinjuku to Hakone-Yumoto, 40 minutes on the Hakone Tozan Railway to Gora, then 10 minutes on the cable car to Sounzan and a one-minute walk. The Hakone Ropeway to Owakudani and Lake Ashi also departs from Sounzan.
