About
Shigetsu is a ryokan of about 20 to 40 rooms, listings differ, three minutes on foot from Nakamise and Sensoji in Asakusa, run for about 80 years (shigetsu.com). Its centrepiece is the sixth-floor hinoki cypress bath with a view of the five-storey pagoda and Tokyo Skytree; the water is heated, not a hot spring. Rooms are Japanese-style with tatami and futon, Western singles, and suites for up to four, every one with its own bathroom. Some Japanese-Western rooms were renovated in 2025. Asakusa Station is a few minutes away.
